Film

Action!

Aside from my writing endeavors, I have also dabbled in film throughout my life. I have written, directed, filmed, edited, and produced various short film concepts for classes, personal use, and even a friend’s wedding. It’s been a while since I’ve made anything new, but I still enjoy this series of three videos my siblings and I made for my mom’s birthday (you can’t ask which one).

My mom doesn’t like her children to go hungry when they’re home, so she has a tendency to list off everything that could be considered an item of food whenever she finds us in the kitchen.

A nice cup of tea is my mom’s favorite drink. In fact you’ll rarely find her without one in her hand. You’ll also rarely find that to be the first mug she’s made tea in that day, as she frequently leaves her tea behind while working around the house and can’t remember where exactly she left it—so she makes a new cup of tea. Repeat that cycle a few times and you get… this video.

This one is a bit of an inside joke in the family, and it comes from an old home movie of a snowstorm when my brother and I were toddlers. To make a long story short, my brother got snuck in a pile of snow and adorably announced exactly that, meanwhile, I searched for a yellow shovel in a basket of yellow beach toys and my mom angrily yelled at me to find a yellow shovel. Confused? Well, that’s ok. Just enjoy the video.
